Outdoor Voices:
Employer Project for IKEA Damansara & INTI Subang
Alongside other 4 graphic designers, we teamed up to paint an ‘OMBYTE’ mural for IKEA Damansara. The showroom was up for 3 months long, situated right at the entrance after the escalator. Through this project, we’ve experienced: The Night at IKEA, and
we get to see contractors loading in supplies before the sun rises. On top of all, the most difficult is to undo & redo on-the-wall where everything has to be done manually and accordingly due to the paint and spray that dries quickly and might be blended with other colors.
Deepavali is all about festive colors and rangoli. While the targeted client didn’t take our proposal, the design was chosen to be put at INTI International College Subang’s Block Z window display. Bringing a merge of contemporary art and Indian culture, a cloth is used to represent the sacred Ganges river in India. Flowing endlessly, this is also to share the history of Rama-Sita, for “Crossing of the River Ganga is also crossing over from a life of luxury to a life of asceticism and hardships for Rama, Lakshmana and Sita.” (Udumudi, 2016).
